Cayo Guillermo, Ciego de Ávila
Just west of Cayo Coco is Cayo Guillermo, a much smaller coral key connected to Cayo Coco by a causeway. The mangroves off the south coast of Cayo Guillermo are home to pink flamingos and pelicans, and there is a great diversity of tropical fish and crustaceans on the key’s Atlantic reef. This was a favorite fishing spot of American writer Ernest Hemingway, who mentioned Cayo Guillermo in his book Islands in the Stream. From virgin beaches to modern resorts, and whether you want to stay in five-star luxury facilities or would just like to find a quiet place to hang your hammock, Cayo Guillermo is 13 kilometers (8.1 miles) long and has five beaches: a perfect spot for all-inclusive vacations to Cuba.
