"Soroa + Las Terrazas" Tour

Description:

Soroa, a natural place of great beauty and variety, considered a Biosphere Reserve in western Cuba. It is located in the Sierra del Rosario in Artemis. It is a privileged place because of the great variety and characteristics of its flora and fauna. Here you will find the largest orchid garden in the country, with over 750 different varieties of orchids. Don't miss the spectacular 22-metre high waterfall with wonderful views from the kitchen. Going down the trails that lead to the natural pool where the waterfall falls, visitors take refreshing baths and enjoy a simply splendid view again. Visitors from all over the world come to this wonderful place to admire and enjoy the beautiful work that nature created in this abrupt place, surrounded by mountains and rivers.

The community of Las Terrazas is located in the Sierra del Rosario, province of Artemisa, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1985. When you arrive you are surrounded by evergreen forests, rivers and waterfalls of crystal clear water, fresh breezes and birdsong, a rural environment that invites you to enjoy nature tourism.

This is the site of the first coffee settlements in the country in the 19th century founded by Frenchmen who came from Louisiana. Today, after two centuries, there are still vestiges of the Buena Vista, Santa Serafina, La Victoria, San Pedro, Santa Catalina and La Unión coffee plantations, where the high degree of specialization with which they were designed is appreciable.

• Tour by air-conditioned bus, with guide service in several languages, along the Northwest Coast from Havana to the Sierra del Rosario, through highways, embankments, roads, sugarcane fields and peasant villages.
• Visit to Salto de Soroa, one of the wonders of Cuban geography.
• Visit to the Orquideario de Soroa.
• We continue our journey towards Las Terrazas.
• Reception in Curujey, welcome cocktail and brief explanation of the Project.
• Visit to the Buenavista Coffee Plantation, an old 19th century coffee plantation that has been partially restored.
• Visit to the Community of Las Terrazas. Walk through the Callejón de la Moka and taste a local coffee.
• Lunch in one of the restaurants of the Complex according to availability, except in the Casa del Campesino and El Romero
• Visit to the San Juan River and time for swimming
• Return to the hotels in Havana.
