- The factories are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of each month.
- The cigar factories are closed for vacation periods from December 25 to January 15 and July 23 to August 19 of each year.

The cigar is part of Cuba's culture for many reasons. It is a tradition inherited, in an organic way, from its first inhabitants, the Cuban aborigines. Its cultivation and consumption was transmitted from generation to generation creating a domain of the most complex in America. Its exceptional quality worldwide became a source of wealth. Its cultivation was a source of work for many peasants, while in the cities the sophisticated Havana cigar was produced, thus the culture of tobacco shops emerged. The rings and lithographic labels, which identify them, show great beauty and colour. But they are much more, they occupy an indispensable place in the visual heritage of Cubans.
