Description

️Visita Matanzas, a province in Cuba that you will fall in love with. Located on the north coast of Cuba, it emerged around its homonymous bay where 4 rivers drain. One of the oldest nicknames for Matanzas, Ciudad de los Puentes, was derived from the various engineering works carried out over time to save the rain currents. It was already known this way when in 1860 it was also called Athens of Cuba.

• Visit to Castle of San Severino, home of the Slave Route Museum; it is a jewel of Matanzas, in the west of Cuba, the only exponent of the foundation of the city still standing. This space, which was created with the aim of representing the rich African legacy to the Cuban culture, includes several life-size sculptures of the pantheon of gods of the Afro-Cuban religion, tapestries that show the environment where each Orisha was manifested according to tradition, and ritual drums used in the various ceremonies.

• Visit to the Pharmacy Museum. Museum that preserves the atmosphere of this 19th century apothecary's shop, thanks to the fact that its original shelves, bottles, utensils, books and instruments still remain in the same place chosen by its founders over 100 years ago.
• Visit to Museo Provincial Palacio Junco. As you walk through its exhibition halls you will be able to have an encounter with more than 10 thousand years of development of Cuba, cradle of literary and artists, of patriots and scientists, of educators and sportsmen; men and women who have sealed with their stamp the Cuban and international event, it has 17 exhibition halls that in an intimate atmosphere will allow you to appreciate a group of pieces of Cuban archaeology: burials, vessels, work instruments and ritual objects.
