"Cienfuegos-Guanaroca Lagoon-Botanic Garden" Tour

Description

The Guanaroca Lagoon is a wetland of 2.2 km2 of area, fed by fresh water from the Arimao River, while the brackish taste is supplied by the Jagua Bay. Because of its natural values, relief, vegetation formations, it is a point of attraction of great importance. In this place is established a colony of pink flamingos and there are also several types of migratory birds, as well as marine species such as white shrimp, oysters and species of scales of commercial interest. Three thousand hectares of land and marine including an ecosystem of natural labyrinths are appreciated by ecological tourism that values natural, cultural and historical resources suitable for hiking. The nesting of heron and pelican species is observed, as well as other endemic species representative of the Cuban fauna.
