Founded in 1902, under the administration of Luis Velasco, in the Plaza de la Libertad of the city of Matanzas, in the middle of its historical center. It shows an eclectic architecture where the neoclassical elements stand out. It constitutes one of the most important buildings in the historical center of the city.
Only 50 meters away from the Sauto Theater, very close to it is the Pharmacy Museum, where an original French pharmacy from the 19th century can be appreciated. From its last level, very good views of the city and the bay of Matanzas can be observed.
Its decoration reminds the atmosphere of the halls and residences of the first days of the 20th century. Warm and soft colors predominate in the walls and ceilings. Illuminated environments with lamps and ceiling lights from the 1920s can also be appreciated in the installation. It has a restaurant with 58 seats, where you can breathe fresh air surrounded by a natural environment and impressive beauty.
