"Havana Bay" Bike Tour

Description

Our proposal is that you make this trip to a partially forgotten side of the city where the life in the port, the Afro-Cuban religion, the towns of Regla and Casablanca, and The Christ, unite to make you know the authentic Cuba, all this accompanied by an impressive view that can be admired from the other side of the city.

Details of the tour

  • Departure from the meeting point.
  • We will go through the capital's ramp where we will be able to see the "Habana Libre" Hotel, formerly the Hilton and the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, the emblem of Cuban hotel industry. It is located on a hill a few meters from the sea in the most central area of Havana, a place where hundreds of notable personalities have stayed in the various manifestations of the arts, politics, trade and business world, science and universal culture, without forgetting to include the Italian-American mafia.
  • The Malecón Habanero, Cuba's most famous seafront avenue, with its six lanes is topped by a wide sidewalk, crowned by a wall that serves as a seat for thousands of people who contemplate the blue sea, the passage of ships, or the beloved face of those who share a beautiful moment to appreciate the sunset.
  • We head towards the Avenue of the Port in Old Havana where we will take the lacha (ferry) to cross to the other side of the Bay, since it is not allowed to pass through the tunnel of bicycles or motorcycles.
  • We will visit the Church of Nuestra Señora de Regla.
  • From the town of Regla, we will go to Guanabacoa, where we will visit the Municipal Museum, a place that treasures an important collection of local history and Afro-Cuban traditions.
  • We will see the oldest car in Cuba.
  • Then we will travel towards Cojímar, a fishing village east of the city, where he developed his love for the sport of fishing and this is where the famous writer Ernest Hemingway set his most famous novel: The Old Man and the Sea.
  • Visit the sculpture of the Christ of Havana, majestic and colossal statue that is at the entrance of the port of Havana, on the left, between the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña and the town of Casablanca and from where you can enjoy magnificent views of the other side of the bay where the lights highlight the beauty of the city.
  • For the return we will take the boat again, but this time leaving the town of Casablanca before we will pass by the exterior of the Fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña, as well as the Castle of the Three Kings of the Morro.
  • Lunch will depend on our speed and the duration of the stops in the attractive places we suggest. We have options of places where you can enjoy a delicious lunch on both sides of the bay.
  • After returning to the metropolis, we will pass by Old Havana to visit some of the historical places on the way to the Malecón
  • We will continue our journey to the starting point.
