Jeep Safari "Rebel-Granma Route"
Itinerary: Pick up at the hotels, transfer to Santo Domingo located in the Pico Turquino National Park, upon arrival welcome cocktail in the Santo Domingo village. Departure by jeep to the Alto del Naranjo, time for photos and a view of the mountains of the Sierra Mestre, hike with a specialized guide to the camp of the comandancia La Plata. In this place, Fidel Castro decided to install the Comandancia in 1958 because of the need to establish a fixed place for the hospital and the Radio, the First Law of Agrarian Reform was signed on the 17th of May 1959 and the first land titles of the sierra were given to the peasants. The hike is approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) long. The trail is rocky and muddy in places, but passes through a section of beautiful forest. Before reaching the guerrilla hideout, you will visit a house once owned by a peasant who helped Fidel's army. Return to the village of Santo Domingo for lunch, in the afternoon return to the polo hotels.
