"Nature and History" Soroa Trail

Description

Soroa, is located in the Sierra del Rosario in Artemisa. It is a privileged place because of the great variety and characteristics of its flora and fauna. In this place is the largest orchid garden in the country, with more than 750 different varieties of orchids. It has a spectacular waterfall of 22 meters high that invites you to take a refreshing bath at any time of year. Soroa is known as the Rainbow of Cuba

Soroa has other attractions that are of interest to the visitor, that is why to know this place, we have designed a series of tours through several trails located in which the visitor will be able to know other attractions and go into this fascinating natural environment.

Sendero Soroa: Nature and History, in this tour the visitor will have the opportunity to discover the natural, social and historical-cultural values of the area, as well as, enjoy knowing the life of the Cuban peasants, their customs, food habits, crops, way of life, etc. Besides, it will be possible to enjoy the great biodiversity that this area of the Sierra del Rosario has.

Itinerary

• Welcome cocktail reception at the Pool Bar of the Hotel Horizontes Soroa.
• Community "El Vivero". The client will receive a brief explanation about the local development in the area, in addition to the joint work between the hotel and the community for the preservation of the environment.
• Ruins of coffee plantations. Here the client will receive a brief explanation about the emergence and expansion of coffee cultivation in Cuba, as well as the development of coffee farms in the area.
• Casa de Vidal (local farmer). Here the client will be able to observe the different crops of the farmers, the constructions, their way of life, etc. In addition, they will have the possibility to interact with them, taste a typical Cuban coffee and tropical fruits of the season.
• Majaguas Forest. Here the client will receive a brief explanation of the most significant exponents of the flora and fauna of the region and will also learn about different Cuban sustainable development projects linked to health and nature preservation.
• View of the Eagle. The client will enjoy a panoramic view of the southern plain of the province of Artemisa, its main industries and projects in development, as well as the Castle of the Clouds and the house "Vista Hermosa", facilities belonging to the hotel.
• Castle of the Clouds. The client will receive an explanation of the history of the Castle of the Clouds and will be able to enjoy an exceptional view of the Sierra del Rosario and the process of development and expansion of the tourist park "Soroa".
• Return to the hotel.
