Description

Soroa, is located in the Sierra del Rosario in Artemisa. It is a privileged place because of the great variety and characteristics of its flora and fauna. In this place is the largest orchid garden in the country, with more than 750 different varieties of orchids. It has a spectacular waterfall of 22 meters high that invites you to take a refreshing bath at any time of year. Soroa is known as the Rainbow of Cuba. Soroa has other attractions that are of interest to the visitor, that is why to know this place, we have designed a series of tours through several trails located in which the visitor will be able to know other attractions and go into this fascinating natural environment.

Sendero Soroa: Spring of life, in this tour the visitor will be able to interact with nature, to interpret its values and biodiversity in the area, as well as, to enjoy its kindnesses when enjoying a bath in the sulphur spring and to transit by the constructions of the first settlers settled down in this zone.

Itinerary

• Welcome cocktail reception at the Pool Bar of the Hotel Horizontes Soroa.
• Sulphur spring: Place where you will receive a brief explanation about the properties of sulphurous and mineral-medicinal waters.
• La Yagruma: Place where the client will receive a detailed explanation about the flora and fauna of the region as well as the different historical and social elements.
• La Ceiba: One of the oldest trees in the area, with more than 650 years, venerated and sacred to the Afro-Cuban religion. Here the visitor will be part of the ceiba ritual, which consists of going around the ceiba tree 12 times and at the end, making a wish.
• Massage room (mineral-medicinal baths): Here you can observe the hotel's sulphurous water pool and receive a brief explanation of the physiotherapeutic services offered in the facility.
• Viewpoint of the waterfall. Explanation of the formation of the waterfall from the displacement of the tectonic plates and the geological characteristics of the area.
• Continuation of the tour and observation of the waterfall and the phenomenon of refraction of light by water causes it to break up into a range of colors. Time for swimming in the waterfall.
